Failure to Order Imaging for Headache
An adult patient presented to the emergency department (ED) of a hospital after a car wreck, complaining of a headache. Radiology imaging of the head, to rule out a problem, was not performed even though the patient was prone to bleeding due to a preexisting condition. The patient died due to brain bleeding weeks later, and Clore Law Group, LLC was able to allege and show with evidence a time-course of the brain bleeding that was reversible with proper care. The case was settled confidentially in the family’s favor.
