Drive Sober This Labor Day

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and law enforcement organization across the state will initiate the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign this Labor Day in an effort to crack down drunk drivers and prevent drunk driving accidents across the country. In fact, about 146 drunk driving arrests are made every hour across the country, and this Labor Day law enforcement will working hard to catch even more irresponsible drivers.

South Carolina Labor Day Festivities

The state has some wonderful festivities planned for the citizens of South Carolina. The Clore Law Group reminds everyone to drink responsibly during the holiday and to not drink and drive. Deluge Charleston will be held on August 31, at the Joe Riley Stadium. This "epic" water experience will feature live music and 300,000 gallons of water. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Crackdown

South Carolina law enforcement will be targeting drunk drivers during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign from August 13 through September 1, 2014. During this time, police and other law enforcement personnel will be out in full force with increased highway patrols and target enforcement areas. Though there has been a slight decrease in the number of drunk driving accidents in the state, statistics show that drunk drivers are still responsible for at least 40 percent of all fatal car accidents in the state. In fact, information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that in 2012, of the 863 fatal auto accidents that occurred on state roadways, 358 were because of drunk driving. Nationally, about one person dies in a drunk driving accident every 34 minutes during the Labor Day holiday. In 2012, the Labor Day holiday was marred by the deaths of 147 people due to drunk driving accidents. This year, do your part to keep everyone on South Carolina's road safe.
