According to one news report, the Charleston County Sheriff's Office says a deadly three car accident on Highway 17 South last Friday afternoon has claimed the life of two people. The Charleston County Coroner's Office says Rodney Gause, 58, from Ocala, Fla. died at the scene of this accident. Elizabeth Gause, 21, also from Ocala, Fla. died Saturday at MUSC from body injuries sustained in the accident. According to authorities, Elizabeth Gause is the daughter of Rodney Gaune. According to investigators, a pickup truck towing a trailer was traveling at a high speed, which caused the trailer to jack-knife and strike a Toyota Forerunner. A sheriff's office report states that after striking the Forerunner, the trailer then crossed the median and struck a Honda car that was carrying the Gause family. Authorities say the family was in town to see Elizabeth Gause's fiancée graduate from the Citadel on Saturday when the car accident occurred.
