ERCP for Patient When Contraindicated: Severe Pancreatic Damage
A Gastroenterologist performed a procedure known as ERCP on a middle-aged man for gallstones. Clore Law Group, LLC represented the man, along with another law firm, after he developed pancreatitis, and pancreatic damage to the point where he needed a pancreatic transplant to survive. It was alleged, for various reasons, that an ERCP was too dangerous for him, was the wrong procedure for the man's problem, and that surgery to remove the gallbladder should have been performed instead to have cured the situation. A successful confidential settlement was obtained for the man.
