Brain Injury from Childbirth

A young mother was admitted to a hospital for delivery of her baby at term. Although there were no major problems during pregnancy, the electronic fetal monitor (EFM) strip began showing that the baby was having problems during the mother's labor. As the labor progressed, so did the worsening of the EFM strip. It was alleged that due to delays by the caregivers in delivering the mother timely, including by emergent C-section, the baby suffered hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) brain injury, cerebral palsy and quadriplegia. The case was confidentially settled by Clore Law Group, LLC for the child.
