There has been widespread coverage and new laws enacted nationwide to address distracted driving. These are criminal laws meant to serve as a deterrent. It offers very little to help the victims of car accidents involving a distracted driver. Perhaps a minor fine or time in jail may offer some justice in the mind of a victim, but it does absolutely nothing to return the victim to their pre-accident condition.
