Endo Pharmaceuticals Opiate Products by Novartis

Recently, the FDA announced a Public Health advisory which included the following products:
  • Opana ER (oxymorphone hydrochloride) Extended-Release Tablets CII
  • Opana (oxymorphone hydrochloride) CII
  • Oxymorphone hydrochloride Tablets CII
  • PERCOCET (oxycodone hydrochloride and acetaminophen USP) Tablets CII
  • PERCODAN (oxycodone hydrochloride and aspirin, USP) Tablets CII
  • ENDOCET (oxycodone hydrochloride and acetaminophen USP) Tablets CII
  • ENDODAN (oxycodone hydrochloride and aspirin, USP) Tablets CII
  • MORPHINE SULFATE Extended-Release Tablets CII
  • ZYDONE (hydrocodone bitartrate/acetaminophen tablets, USP) CIII
The problem with these prescription drugs is they seem to have been errantly mixed with other drugs when bottled or packaged. Opiates are potent pain relief medicines requiring prescriptions. Unknowingly taking these drugs by Novartis could have serious side effect up to and including death. The most unfortunate part of this particular warning is Endo Pharmaceutical reports they are only aware of 3 such mix ups since 2009 and that each were discovered by pharmacists. This means they never caught their own mistake.
