West Ashley Bicycle Accident Death

The Charleston County Coroner's Office says a man was hit and killed Friday night in a bicycle accident in West Ashley. According to authorities 25-year-old Yury Babenko from Russia was on Old Towne Road when the bicycle accident occurred. Babenko was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina where he died later that night. Charleston City Police say the driver of that car left the scene of the accident and was later spotted and stopped on Folly Road. Authorities have charged 30-year-old Steven Keuhner with Felony DUI.
